Bournemouth v Bristol City
On Saturday we played our last home game of 2021/2022 before playing tournaments for the rest of the season.  Here is a whistle stop review of our season so far.

Matches against Bristol City PAN Disability Team

We have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to have regular matches against the Bristol City PAN disability team and have to say a big thank you to Sam Smith at the Robins Foundation for organising this.

We played on four occasions over the season. As our squad has grown we have been able to create two teams U14’s and U16’s and our last visit from the BC PAN team saw us playing two matches. We look forward to playing against these teams next season.

Playing other Bristol teams
We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Longwell Green Inclusive Team to play against our U16 team. It was a very close and competitive match and demonstrated the high quality football both teams play. Read the match report on our 2-1 win.

We look forward to welcoming them again in the near future.

Bournemouth

We had home and away fixtures against Bournemouth this year, which coincided with the first team fixtures. After both matches we were invited to watch the men’s first team games. and one of the team was lucky enough to meet a number of the players and Nigel Pearson. It was certainly an away day to remember!

Bournemouth v Bristol City
The Robin’s Foundation

Our first full season as a Robins Foundation Associate team as been amazing. When we first formed Bristol City Cerebral Palsy Football Club there were 8 players, we now have 18 and the club continues to grow.

Many of our players are Bristol City fans, so to play in the City kit and represent the club is a privilege. We are also grateful for the opportunities that the Robins Foundation have provided,. We have received tickets for the first team matches, been to the Celebration of Sport, which meant we have been able to play football both on the pitch at Ashton Gate and the High Performance Centre.

Looking to the future

Looking forward we have an exciting couple of months coming up. We tournaments in Scotland and Dublin where we get to meet CP teams from all over the world.

We have recently welcomed three new players and look forward to them getting established in our new set up of U14’s and U 16’s teams.

Thank you

The past year has been amazing and it wouldn’t have been possible without our dedicated coaches Bob, Joe, Shoppy & Annie and support from the parents and carers. A big thank you also goes to Sam Smith from the Robins Foundation who has been amazing from helping with coaching, to arranging matches and refereeing.
