Shoppy

COACH

Adrian Shopland (Shoppy)

FA Level 1 coach

BIO

Shoppy first started coaching around 10 years ago, leading a youth team from U8’s through to U16’s…winning a league title along the way.
After couple of years off he became involved again on a part time basis, originally helping the goalkeepers, the position he played over a 20 year playing period, but also involved with all the players. He also coaches a ladies’ team so has benefitted from all levels and forms of the game.

COACH

Matt McKay

BIO

Having spent a number of years at Notts County as a youth, Matt went on to play semi-professionally in the Northern Counties League with Long Eaton United in the late Eighties and Nineties. He also completed his initial coaching qualification, the FA Preliminary badge, way back in 1988!!
New to the club this year, he is thoroughly enjoying help our players develop their skills – and just as importantly seeing them build confidence, have fun and enjoy themselves.

Annie

COACH

Mike

FA Level 1 coach
FA coaching disabled footballers course

BIO

Mike first fell in love with football when he was 3 years old. He played football as a youngster but his football career suddenly ended when he was 17 years old after having a severe AVM and nearly didn’t survive after being in a coma. Mike survived against all the odds but was left with brain injury, hemiplegia and other difficulties. Mike has since coached Melksham Ability Counts, Chippenham Ability Counts and currently coaches several teams with the Bristol City Robin’s Foundation. Mike believes ‘never give up until the final whistle’.

Mike has a YouTube Channel with tips to do things one handed, which is very informative.

Joe Bryant

COACH

Joe Bryant

BIO

Joe is not a footballer. Once proficient with a rugby ball, whatever skills he may once have had have long since abandoned him. But what he lacks in ability, he seeks to make up for in enthusiasm and, over the past few seasons, he has made the job of chasing and collecting all the balls his own. Always at Bob’s beck and call, Joe does his level best to look the part but it is for his own (and everyone else’s) good that he doesn’t get to kick a ball very often..

COACH

Sarah Ganfield

FA Level 1 coach

BIO

Sarah always played football in the playground as a child and started a girls team with her friends in her youth club when there were no girls teams in her area.
Sarah has worked at Plymouth Argyle Football Club community department coaching holiday and afterschool courses as well as the female disability team. She is a level 1 coach and is now refreshing her coaching qualifications. Being back amongst football is where Sarah is most happy and she is extremely excited about helping the players have fun and develop their skills in the game.
